We research, we don’t lab-test
So why don’t we have a big lab full of sliced open mattresses?
QomfortSleep is a small UK based team without a testing setup of our own. Plus most US brands don’t ship to the UK anyway.
So we don’t pretend.
Instead we do deep research for you. Think of us as that thorough friend who reads everything so you don’t have to.
What our scores are built on
Curious where the raw material comes from? Two places.
First, independent expert reviews from established testing sites. The folks with the pressure maps and the edge support tests.
Second, verified customer sentiment. Think Trustpilot, Reddit r/Mattress, plus retailer and BBB reviews from people who actually sleep on the bed.
Specs tell you what’s inside. These sources tell you what it’s like to live with.
How we turn that into a score out of 10
Want the recipe? There’s no secret sauce.
We gather about three expert scores and normalize them to a 10 point scale.
At the same time, we read lots of customer feedback. We’re looking for themes that keep popping up, like durability or sagging.
Then we average the expert scores and sanity check them against what owners say.
The result?
A single score out of 10. Stars are simply that score divided by two.
Why you can trust it
Worried this is just an average of averages? Fair question.
We never claim we physically tested a mattress when we didn’t.
We give more weight to the most rigorous testers. If one outlier looks pumped up by affiliate hype, we discount it.
We keep an internal record of the sources behind every score.
And when the market shifts, or the feedback changes, we re-score. Like your sleep needs, scores aren’t set in stone.
